Human Synergistics Accredited Consultant

We began working with Human Synergistics tools over 20 years ago. We believe that thinking determines behavior. To change behavior, it is necessary to change how people think - shift the thinking to change the behavior.


We chose to partner with and be accredited by Human Synergistics because the Human Synergistics Circumplex provides a way to see, measure, and change the thinking and behavioral styles proven to drive the performance of not only individuals but also groups and organizations. Culture results are displayed on the Circumplex—the same graph utilized for our leader and team assessments—providing you with a common language and visual to cascade across all organizational levels.


We help organizations enhance their effectiveness by focusing on culture change, leadership development, and team building. Our research-based assessments use a visually integrated diagnostic system that provides a common language for sustainable change across levels.


Our clients can measure what many assume to be unmeasurable—individual behavior, group styles, organizational culture, and the impact of these factors on effectiveness. By doing so, we enable individuals, groups, and organizations to initiate changes and realize their potential.

The results of our surveys are displayed on the Circumplex, a graphical representation that breaks down the factors underlying performance into 12 ways or “styles” of thinking, behaving, and interacting. The Circumplex provides a way to map behavior and “see” the factors that drive performance or create barriers to effectiveness at the individual, group, or organizational level.


The Circumplex


The Circumplex is typically incorporated into Human Synergistics assessments.


As you can see in the image, the Circumplex breaks down the factors underlying performance effectiveness (at the individual, group, and organizational levels) according to 12 behaviors or styles. 

These styles are further grouped according to three general clusters: 

  • Constructive techniques encourage the attainment of organizational goals through people development; promote teamwork and synergy; and enhance the individual, group, and organizational adaptability and effectiveness.
  • Aggressive/Defensive styles lead people to focus on their own needs at the expense of those of their group and organization and lead to stress, turnover, and inconsistent performance.
  • Passive/Defensive styles lead people to subordinate themselves to the organization, stifle creativity and initiative, and allow the organization to stagnate.

Blue, green, and red extensions on the Circumplex graphically depict statistical results and the styles' strength in percentile scores. So you can see how your individual, group, or organizational results compare with thousands of other organizations we've already researched.

The Circumplex is simple, elegant, and extraordinarily insightful — an excellent tool for organizations pursuing performance excellence at every level.
